Police Search For Woman Accused Of Punching Baldwin Store Employee During Attempted Robbery

The incident happened at Lucky Beauty Supply, located at 1685 Grand Ave. in Baldwin, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, according to a report from the Nassau County Police Department on Monday, Aug. 22.

Police said the woman took numerous items from the shelves and put them in a black bag.

When she tried to leave the store without paying, an employee approached her, and a struggle ensued, authorities said. 

Police said the woman punched the employee and pulled her hair, causing the employee to suffer a large contusion to her eye and lacerations to her face.

The employee was able to take the merchandise from the woman, and the woman ran away from the scene, traveling south on Grand Avenue, police said. 

The woman is described as having a large build, a black wig, and tattoos on her right arm, NCPD said. 

She was wearing a brown dress, black slide sandals, and glasses with gold frames, police said.

Detectives asked anyone with information regarding the case to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
